Google Begins Moving Keep Reminders to Tasks as Unified To-Do Hub

The change arrives by default over the next few weeks for Workspace plus personal accounts.

Overview

  • Keep reminders will be automatically saved to Google Tasks, making them accessible in Calendar and Gemini alongside other Workspace surfaces.
  • Google says the migration is rolling out now and should become visible to most users within roughly 15 or more days.
  • Location-based reminders are being removed, and Keep will no longer send reminder notifications on its own.
  • To receive alerts, users need Google Calendar or the Tasks app installed, with Keep still able to create reminders that are stored in Tasks.
  • Keep shows a Tasks icon and the note that reminders are saved in Tasks, with behavior changes including no task title edits from Keep and distinct delete/archive outcomes for notes and tasks.
