Google Adds Google Wallet as a Gemini Connected App

The update lets Gemini read saved wallet passes and Plaid-linked transaction summaries to answer prompts and surface tailored spending, budgeting and rewards information.

Overview

Google has started a gradual rollout of a Gemini Connected App for Google Wallet that is available to some personal Google Accounts in the United States.
When enabled, Gemini can read passes stored in Google Wallet such as loyalty cards, event tickets and boarding passes to respond to user prompts like locating a boarding pass or showing loyalty numbers.
The integration also draws on transaction data from financial accounts linked through Plaid to summarize expenses, offer budgeting tips and check available card rewards and offers.
Google says the Wallet Connected App is read-only, meaning Gemini cannot make payments, create or modify financial accounts, or perform transactions with stored payment methods.
The feature builds on Plaid work already used in Google Pay and could change how people access spending and travel details by letting them use natural-language prompts instead of switching apps, though availability will expand only gradually.
