Overview
- Google is rolling out firmware release_6.144 to Pixel Buds Pro (2022), Pixel Buds Pro 2 (2024) and Pixel Buds 2a (2025) to turn on features that were previewed this summer.
- Enhanced Live Translate lets users start translation with a single tap on the earbuds and works with the Google Translate app so the phone can stay in your pocket.
- A Tap to Mute gesture will mute and unmute the microphone during calls but requires a paired Pixel phone to function.
- Pixel Buds can pause media, silence notifications and disable touch gestures when a paired Pixel Watch detects you falling asleep, using the watch’s sleep sensing to trigger the behavior.
- Dynamic Active Noise Cancellation that adjusts for ear seal is reserved for the Pixel Buds Pro 2, and the staged rollout requires the latest Pixel Buds companion app plus enabling connected‑app settings in Gemini for some features.
