• He has been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, arson with intent to damage property, torture, injuring and reckless endangerment
• Police say video shows Gurley dragging a motionless pit bull through South Ozone Park, dousing it with an accelerant and setting it on fire
• Neighbors and first responders recovered the female dog and its fate remains undetermined pending results of a veterinary necropsy
• The NYPD Animal Cruelty Squad is leading the investigation with ASPCA support and authorities have not disclosed a motive
