John Rzeznik, frontman of the Goo Goo Dolls, has been hospitalized with pneumonia, requiring rest and recovery as advised by his doctor.
The band has postponed their scheduled South African tour dates, originally set for December 4-7, to late March 2025.
New performances are planned for Cape Town on March 25, Durban on March 27, and Pretoria on March 29, with all tickets remaining valid or eligible for refunds.
Rzeznik issued an apology to fans in a video from his hospital bed, expressing regret over the postponement and promising to make it up to them during the rescheduled dates.
The Goo Goo Dolls are still expected to perform at Live Fest in Naples, Florida, on December 14 and have additional international and U.S. tour dates planned for 2025.
