- Gennadiy Golovkin, Antonio Tarver and Nigel Benn were elected to the International Boxing Hall of Fame’s 2026 class through voting by Boxing Writers Association of America members plus an international historians panel.
- The induction ceremony is scheduled for June 14, 2026, in Canastota, New York.
- Golovkin finished 42-2-1 with 37 KOs and tied Bernard Hopkins with 20 consecutive middleweight title defenses, and he was recently elected president of World Boxing, which aims to run Olympic boxing at the Los Angeles 2028 Games.
- Antonio Tarver, a multi-time light heavyweight champion, went 31-6-1 with 22 KOs and famously knocked out Roy Jones Jr. in 2004, while Nigel Benn won belts at middleweight and super middleweight in a 42-5-1 career.
- Additional inductees include Jimmy Clabby, Naoko Fujioka, Jackie Nava, Russ Anber, Jimmy Glenn, referee Frank Cappuccino, Dr. Edwin “Flip” Homansky, journalist Kevin Iole and broadcaster Alex Wallau.
