The incident occurred on October 13 while Harman was competing in a golf tournament in China and his family was vacationing with Dowdy.
Dowdy entered the water after Harman's son, who was caught in a powerful rip current while boogie boarding, but she was severely injured and required CPR from a lifeguard before being hospitalized.
Another bystander, Crane Cantrell, successfully rescued the boy, while Dowdy remains on a ventilator with ongoing medical challenges, including neuro storms, according to updates from her family.
A GoFundMe campaign to support Dowdy's recovery has raised over $88,000, with Harman using his platform to highlight her bravery and ask for continued prayers for her recovery.
