Goleta Man Held on $500,000 Bail After Domestic Violence Arrest and Gun Cache Seizure

Authorities say a 911 call led them to a home where the suspect spoke only through a Ring doorbell.

Overview

  • Deputies responded at 5:48 a.m. on Sept. 22 to the 6200 block of Avenida Gorrion after a woman reported threats to kill and fled the residence.
  • The suspect, identified by KTLA as 41-year-old Patrick Kennedy, exited the home around 1 p.m. and was taken into custody.
  • He was booked on multiple felonies including assault by strangulation, false imprisonment, domestic battery causing injury, criminal threats, felony child endangerment, and brandishing a firearm.
  • A judge-authorized search later that afternoon recovered 10 rifles, a shotgun, four pistols, and thousands of rounds of ammunition from the home.
  • Investigators say Kennedy had handled firearms the prior night, walked the neighborhood in a ski mask, kept loaded guns in his home and vehicle, and recently threatened a neighbor with a replica grenade.
