Goldman Sachs Names 109 Partners in Biggest Class Since 2010

The firm said it withheld a demographic breakdown because of a changed legal environment, a decision that could reduce public visibility into its diversity progress.

Overview

  • Goldman Sachs announced the promotions on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026, and said the 109 new partners will take effect on Jan. 1, 2027.
  • The additions bring the partnership to more than 500 people and will include over 100 female partners for the first time, keeping partners at roughly 1% of the firm.
  • Goldman said about 85% of the new partners work in revenue-generating businesses and many roles are in global banking, markets, and asset and wealth management.
  • The class includes a record 13 engineers and around 30% from Asset and Wealth Management, a mix executives said reflects a push for more technology skills and steady fee revenue.
  • The partnership still confers major pay and governance rights from Goldman's private-firm past, a structure that helps retain top staff and that also makes the decision to stop publishing demographic data consequential for outside scrutiny of diversity progress.
