Golden Knights Sign Carter Hart to Two-Year, $4 Million Deal

League reinstatement rules keep the 27-year-old from NHL games until Dec. 1.

Overview

  • Vegas converted Hart’s Oct. 16 professional tryout into a standard contract and he has reported to the AHL Henderson Silver Knights.
  • Per the NHL/NHLPA framework, he can skate with the organization now and is eligible for AHL game action starting Nov. 15.
  • The club created the needed cap flexibility by placing captain Mark Stone on long-term injured reserve with a wrist injury.
  • Coach Bruce Cassidy listed Adin Hill as week-to-week with a lower-body injury, increasing the team’s short-term goaltending concerns.
  • Hart was acquitted in the 2018 case earlier this year, becoming the first of the five players involved to secure an NHL contract, and he brings six NHL seasons with Philadelphia with a 96-93-29 record and a .906 save percentage.
