Golden Globes Unveil First Best Podcast Nominees, Excluding Rogan and Political Shows

Nominees were chosen from a Luminate data shortlist by the Globes' international voters ahead of the Jan. 11 ceremony.

Joe Rogan, pictured in May 2022 in Phoenix, was snubbed from the inaugural slate of best podcast nominees at next year's Golden Globes despite boasting the world's No. 1 podcast.

  • The six nominees are Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, Call Her Daddy, Good Hang with Amy Poehler, The Mel Robbins Podcast, SmartLess, and NPR’s Up First.
  • The voting body selected finalists from a 25-show shortlist generated by data partner Luminate using listener metrics.
  • The Joe Rogan Experience and all political podcasts on the shortlist were left out, and popular true-crime and sports titles also missed.

  • The new category debuts at the 83rd Golden Globes on Jan. 11, 2026, with eligibility requiring at least six original episodes released between Jan. 1 and Sept. 30, 2025.
