Golden Gate Park Launches Unprecedented Three-Weekend Concert Marathon

Authorities have activated road closures through August 20, deploying a full safety team to handle tens of thousands of Dead & Company attendees for the kickoff weekend.

Overview

  • Dead & Company’s three shows at the Polo Fields from August 1 to 3 are expected to draw roughly 60,000 fans each day.
  • Road closures and pedestrian and bicycle detours on major park routes will remain in effect from July 31 through August 20.
  • The San Francisco Police Department has mobilized officers alongside park rangers, parking control and private security for full public safety coverage across the concert weekends.
  • Outside Lands is set for August 8–10, followed by Zach Bryan on August 15, completing the park’s first-ever run of three back-to-back concert weekends.
  • Organizers project more than 450,000 attendees across the series, generating about $150 million for the city’s economy and $7 million for the Recreation and Park Department.
