Golden Gate Bridge Toll Rises 50 Cents as Bay Area Transit Fares Increase

The moves aim to fill a projected $220 million five-year shortfall in a transit district dependent solely on toll and fare revenue.

Overview

  • Standard FasTrak toll climbed from $9.25 to $9.75 while Pay-As-You-Go drivers now pay $10 and invoice customers $10.75, with carpool rates rising to $7.75.
  • Golden Gate Ferry and Golden Gate Transit fares increased by up to $0.25 per ride, and discount programs remain for Clipper users, seniors, youth, riders with disabilities and Clipper START participants.
