Gogoro's New Smart Scooters Can Be Unlocked with iPhone's Wallet App, Compatible with Apple Watch, Enables Key Sharing & Soon to Feature Integration with Apple's Find My App

Smart scooter users now able to unlock their Gogoro scooters using their iPhones or Apple Watches, with expanded features allowing for key sharing, future Find My app integration and potential application on over 300,000 pre-existing scooters.

• Gogoro's new line of smart scooters, including models like the SuperSport TCS, Delight, and CrossOver, can now be unlocked using Apple's Wallet app on an iPhone or Apple Watch, marking the first time scooters can be registered and unlocked via the Wallet app, which previously only supported cars.
• To use the iPhone or Apple Watch as a scooter key, users must have a compatible Gogoro scooter, an iPhone XS or later OR an Apple Watch Series 4 or later, and be signed in to the device with their Apple ID. After registering the scooter on the Gogoro app, users can add the scooter key to their Wallet app.
• The digital keys for Gogoro scooters stored in the Wallet app can be shared with up to five people via iMessage, Mail, WhatsApp, and other messaging apps. Gogoro does not have access to private information about when or where keys are used or shared.
• The new feature is not just available for new Gogoro scooters; it is backwards compatible and can be applied to over 300,000 existing Smartscooters in Taiwan that have built-in NFC for contactless communication.
• In the coming months, Gogoro plans to integrate its scooters with Apple's Find My app, allowing users to track the location of their scooters directly from their phones. This feature will initially be available only on certain models, with plans to expand it to the entire Gogoro portfolio in the future.
