Goethe Tops Barcelona Pre-Qualifying as Gounon Sets Early Benchmark for Endurance Cup Finale

Benjamin Goethe led Pre-Qualifying with a 1:40.870 in the Garage 59 McLaren, edging Bastian Buus by 0.267 seconds as five Bronze Cup cars cracked the top 10.
Jules Gounon set the fastest Free Practice lap at 1:40.793 for GetSpeed’s Mercedes-AMG, with Augusto Farfus 0.265 seconds behind and Patric Niederhauser close on pace.
Overall points leader Maro Engel placed eighth in Pre-Qualifying for the Team MANN-FILTER Mercedes-AMG as Fabian Schiller put the GetSpeed sister car fifth.
Free Practice was briefly halted for 15 minutes after Patrick Kolb’s Turn 3 crash, yet his Lionspeed GP Porsche returned to action and he ended the session as the quickest Bronze runner in eighth overall.
Qualifying is scheduled for Sunday at 10:25 a.m. CEST (4:25 a.m. EDT) ahead of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup finale.
