• Philip Culling used his roles as director of music and child protection officer to initiate a sexual relationship with a pupil known as Person B from 2010 to 2014.
• Tribunal evidence described oral sex in an office cupboard, secret meetings during school hours and weekly visits to the student’s home when her mother was absent.
• Godolphin and Latymer allowed Culling to resign quietly in 2014 without a disciplinary hearing, after which he secured a position at Holland Park Pre-Prep and Nursery in 2016.
• A whistleblower’s disclosure in June 2022 prompted the Teaching Regulation Agency to investigate Culling’s past conduct.
• In June 2025 the TRA imposed a lifetime teaching ban, ruling that Culling’s exploitation of his position amounted to the utmost professional misconduct.
