'God of War Ragnarök' Free Expansion 'Valhalla' Announced, Releases December 12
The DLC, described as an epilogue to the main game, introduces roguelite elements and takes players on a deeply personal journey with Kratos in Valhalla.
- Sony Santa Monica Studio announced a free expansion for 'God of War Ragnarök' titled 'Valhalla', set to release on December 12 for both PS5 and PS4 versions of the game.
- The expansion, described as an epilogue to the main game, will feature Kratos and Mimir embarking on a deeply personal and reflective journey in Valhalla, battling Norse creatures and threats from Kratos' past.
- Valhalla introduces roguelite elements, with each attempt at the challenges offering different rewards and requiring different strategies, and defeat leading to Kratos reawakening for another try.
- Players will have access to all of Kratos' weapons and fully-upgraded skill trees at all times, but must commit to a shield and path of Spartan Rage for each attempt.
- While the DLC is separate from the core game and can be accessed at any time, the developers recommend finishing the main game before playing Valhalla due to post-game story elements.
