Go-Go's Guitarist Jane Wiedlin and Four Others Accuse DJ Rodney Bingenheimer of Sexual Abuse
The allegations, reported by Rolling Stone, follow a lawsuit filed earlier this year by Kari Krome, co-founder of the Runaways, alleging similar misconduct by Bingenheimer.
- Jane Wiedlin, guitarist for the Go-Go's, has accused radio DJ Rodney Bingenheimer of sexually abusing her when she was a teenager in the 1970s.
- Four other women have also accused Bingenheimer of similar misconduct, according to a Rolling Stone report.
- The allegations follow a lawsuit filed eight months ago by Kari Krome, a songwriter and co-founder of the all-female 1970s band the Runaways, who alleged that Bingenheimer groomed and sexually assaulted her when she was underage.
- Bingenheimer, known for his radio show Rodney on the ROQ, which ran on L.A.'s KROQ station from 1976 to 2017, has not responded to the allegations.
- Wiedlin stated that the Go-Go's got their first exposure because of Bingenheimer, adding to the complexity of her feelings towards him.
