GM Revives Chevy Bolt for 2027 at $29,990 With Faster Charging and NACS

Chevy is positioning the Kansas-built, limited-run Bolt to plug the EV affordability gap until U.S. LFP battery production comes online.

Overview

  • A Launch Edition priced at $29,990 including destination is slated for early 2026, with a lower-cost LT trim to follow at $28,995.
  • GM estimates 255 miles of range from a 65 kWh LFP battery, paired with a front-drive Equinox-derived motor rated around 210 horsepower.
  • A native NACS port and 150 kW DC fast charging enable a 10–80% top-up in about 26 minutes, and the car supports vehicle-to-home power up to 9.6 kW.
  • Production is confirmed for GM’s Fairfax Assembly in Kansas City as a limited-run model, with volumes and timeline not disclosed.
  • GM says LFP cells will be imported initially before a shift to domestic supply; the car features an 11.3-inch infotainment system without Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, and offers Super Cruise as an option.
