GM Integrates BrightDrop into Operations, CEO Steps Down

Move aims to streamline contact for fleet customers and bolster GM's transition towards an all-electric future.

General Motors (GM) has integrated electric delivery startup BrightDrop into its operations, aiming to offer a unified point of contact for fleet customers.
BrightDrop, established in January 2021, has quickly become a significant player in the commercial electric vehicle (EV) sector.
GM plans to continue ramping up the production of BrightDrop Zevo, expected to resume in the spring of 2024, supported by a new battery module factory in Canada.
BrightDrop's electric delivery vans, the Zevo 600 and Zevo 400, will continue to be a part of GM Envolve’s commercial fleet offerings.
BrightDrop CEO Travis Katz has stepped down from the role and will no longer be employed by GM.
