GM and ChargePoint to Install 500 Ultra-Fast EV Chargers by 2025

The chargers will feature universal compatibility and speeds up to 500kW to address infrastructure gaps and boost EV adoption.

General Motors and ChargePoint announced plans to deploy up to 500 ultra-fast EV charging stations across the U.S. under the GM Energy brand.
The chargers will utilize ChargePoint's Omni Port technology, supporting both NACS and CCS connectors for broader compatibility across EV models.
ChargePoint’s Express Plus platform will enable charging speeds of up to 500kW, potentially delivering 200 miles of range in just five minutes for compatible vehicles.
All stations are expected to be operational and open to the public by the end of 2025, with many strategically located to address gaps in EV infrastructure.
This collaboration is part of GM's broader efforts to expand EV charging options, complementing its partnerships with EVgo and its role in the IONNA charging consortium.
