Global Survey Finds 46% of Adults Hold Antisemitic Beliefs

The ADL's study reveals a sharp rise in antisemitism worldwide, with younger generations exhibiting higher levels of prejudice.

  • The ADL's Global 100 Index survey found that 46% of adults globally agree with a majority of antisemitic stereotypes, doubling from 26% in 2014.
  • Younger respondents, particularly those under 35, displayed significantly higher levels of antisemitic attitudes compared to older generations.
  • One in five respondents worldwide were unaware of the Holocaust, and only 48% accepted its historical accuracy, with this figure dropping to 39% among younger adults.
  • The Middle East and North Africa scored the highest levels of antisemitism, with the West Bank and Gaza leading at 97%, while Sweden, Norway, Canada, and the Netherlands had the lowest levels at 8% or below.
  • The ADL attributes the rise in antisemitism to factors like social media, increasing polarization, and a lack of Holocaust education, urging governments to adopt stronger measures to combat hate.
