The global smartphone market grew by 7% in 2024, reaching 1.22 billion units shipped, marking the first recovery after two years of decline.
Apple retained the top position in global shipments with 225.9 million units, despite a 1% year-over-year decline, driven by strong sales in emerging markets.
Samsung followed closely with 222.9 million units shipped, while Xiaomi saw 15% growth, reaching 168.6 million units and securing third place globally.
India's premium smartphone segment (priced above INR 25,000) grew by 36% year-over-year in 2024, with Apple’s market share in the country surging by 72% in Q4.
The iPhone 15 was the best-selling smartphone of 2024, with Apple dominating the top 10 best-selling models list, alongside three Samsung devices including the Galaxy A15.
