- Majorities in many countries expect China’s global influence to grow over the next decade, including 54% in the U.S., 53% in the EU, 51% in India and 72% in Brazil.
- Most respondents say China leads in key industries such as renewable technology and electric vehicles.
- The share viewing the U.S. as an ally has fallen in most places, with India the only country where a majority still sees Washington as a values-sharing partner.
- Perceptions of China as an ally or necessary partner have risen in South Africa, Brazil and India, while only South Korea and Ukraine show majorities calling China a rival or adversary.
