Global ATM Withdrawal Fees Rise as Vietnam Becomes Costliest, Wise Finds

  • Wise analyzed about 9.7 million transactions across 202 countries over six months and found higher, highly uneven cash-withdrawal costs.
  • Vietnam leads the 2025 ranking with an average fee of 27.10 percent, followed by Argentina at 20.51 percent, with Colombia at 16.66 percent and Indonesia at 10.91 percent after a sharp annual increase.
  • European non‑euro destinations show elevated charges, with Turkey at 5.08 percent, Albania at 2.62 percent, Moldova at 2.29 percent, Andorra at 2.24 percent and Iceland at 1.7 percent.
  • Germany remains comparatively low at an average fee of 0.28 percent, equal to €0.28 on a €100 withdrawal in the Wise data.
