Overview
- A partial glacier collapse in Nepal produced a fast-moving torrent of ice, rock, mud and water that struck Nepal’s Rasuwa and Dhading districts and swept into Gyirong in Tibet on Wednesday, causing widespread destruction.
- Chinese and Nepalese officials report a fluid death toll with hundreds missing; Chinese sources have cited about 360 missing in Tibet and about 270 deaths on the Nepal side while local Tibetan deaths reported so far have been lower.
