President Sarah Kate Ellis calls for increased visibility and representation of transgender individuals in media.
- GLAAD, the LGBTQ media-advocacy organization, received the Television Academy’s 2023 Governors Award at the 75th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, recognized for its work to secure fair, accurate and diverse representation of the LGBTQ community in the media and entertainment industries.
- GLAAD president Sarah Kate Ellis emphasized the importance of visibility, particularly for transgender individuals, and called for more culture-changing stories about transgender people.

- GLAAD's initiatives include the GLAAD Media Institute, which works with Hollywood productions to ensure accurate LGBTQ representation, and the comprehensive 'Where We Are on TV' report, which tracks LGBTQ+ inclusion across television networks, cable, and streaming services.
- The upcoming 35th annual GLAAD Media Awards, which honor outstanding LGBTQ-inclusive news and entertainment projects, will be held on March 14 in Los Angeles and May 11 in New York.
