GitHub to Launch Copilot Enterprise Plan, Enabling Customization for Company Codebases in February 2024
Copilot Enterprise Plan to allow developers to fine-tune the AI tool for their company's codebase as from February 2024, giving them the capacity for tailored suggestions and risk mitigation among other features.
- GitHub announced plans to launch Copilot Enterprise, a new enterprise-level subscription tier for its AI developer tool, Copilot. This new offering will allow businesses to customize this AI pair-programmer based on their internal codebases.
- The Copilot Enterprise plan will empower developers to receive suggestions on all their internal, private code, and also have the ability to fine-tune the AI models underlying their version of Copilot.
- Copilot Enterprise will be available from February 2024 at the cost of $39/month, and includes additional features such as the ability to connect Copilot to company's repositories for detailed code review, documentation creation, and faster pull request reviews.
- This Enterprise version will allow developers to have AI-enabled conversations around code and associated documentation in the cloud, and the capacity to fine-tune the AI model to specific company codebases, thereby enabling the tool to answer very specific questions related to those codebases.
- The launch of Copilot Enterprise aims to increase productivity gains for enterprises by providing developers access to AI-suggested code within their work environments, reducing time spent on procedural tasks, and helping junior developers get up to speed quickly.
