Overview

• The crash occurred around 3 p.m. Sunday on Highway S-2 when a northbound 2005 Toyota Tacoma crossed a double-yellow line into a 2018 Toyota Camry, then struck a northbound Ford F-350 towing a utility trailer.
• The Tacoma overturned and caught fire, and Cal Fire crews extinguished the blaze and extricated a trapped victim.
• Five patients were airlifted and three were taken by ambulance to Rady Children’s Hospital and Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego.
