Overview
- Searchlight released an official trailer on Wednesday, Oct. 28, that teases an in-story secret project called “Behemoth!” and shows Pascal's character being asked to sign a nondisclosure.
- Tony Gilroy wrote and directed the film as his first feature since 2012, and Pedro Pascal plays Alex Serian, a cellist who returns to Los Angeles after two decades on the road to compose for films.
- The movie features a strong ensemble that includes Olivia Wilde, Will Arnett, Hank Azaria, Eva Victor, Alexa Swinton, Kaya Ralls, Erik Griffin, JoBeth Williams, and Margarita Levieva.
- Gilroy assembled nine composers credited as the Behemoth! Collective—including Michael Giacchino, James Newton Howard, Alan Silvestri, Michael Abels, Emily Bear, Henry Jackman, Nami Melumad, Brandon Roberts, and Lukas Frank—to create the film’s in-story scores, a model that has prompted industry interest about crediting and awards recognition.
- Behemoth! premiered as the New York Film Festival Centerpiece to generally strong notices and an approximately 86% Rotten Tomatoes score, and it is scheduled to open in U.S. theaters on December 4.
