Late NFL Star Frank Gifford's Severe Brain Disease Highlighted in Documentary

Kathie Lee Gifford and her son Cody are speaking out about the effects of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) on her late husband, NFL great Frank Gifford.
Frank Gifford's CTE was at a stage 4, the most severe possible, causing damage to the hippocampus, the center for short-term memory.
The Gifford family began to notice gaps in Frank's memory prior to his death in 2015 at the age of 84.
Cody Gifford has backed the commercial release of a 2017 independent documentary, Requiem for a Running Back, which documents a struggle with CTE by former NFL star, Lewis Carpenter.
The documentary is now available to stream on Amazon, Google YouTube and Apple iTunes.
