Giants Star RB Saquon Barkley Refuses Franchise Tag, Protesting Lack of Long-Term Contract

Saquon Barkley has demanded a new multi-year contract to remain with the Giants but the team has only offered the franchise tag so far.
Barkley will not sign the franchise tag and is ineligible for the Giants offseason program until an agreement is reached.
The Giants recently signed QB Daniel Jones to a $160 million extension but have failed to give Barkley a satisfactory long-term offer.
If no deal is made by July, Barkley will play the 2023 season under the franchise tag, earning over $10 million.
Barkley is looking to be paid as one of the NFL's top running backs after finishing 4th in rushing yards last season.
