San Francisco Giants are reportedly the most likely team to sign Japanese pitcher Shota Imanaga, with a deal expected before his posting period expires on January 11.
Imanaga, who has a career record of 64-50 with a 3.18 ERA in Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball, is expected to command a contract worth more than the five-year, $75 million deal that Kodai Senga signed with the Mets last offseason.
The Giants' interest in Imanaga comes as they reportedly lose interest in former Cy Young winner Blake Snell, who is seeking upwards of $200 million.
Imanaga's potential signing with the Giants would follow the team's trade made last week for 2021 American League Cy Young Award winner Robbie Ray, who is expected to be out until July while he recovers from Tommy John surgery.
Imanaga has until Thursday to make his decision as his posting deadline is 5 P.M. ET. on that day.
