Overview
- The New York Giants lead the NFC East at 3-1 after a 36-24 win over the Arizona Cardinals that featured Deonte Banks’ 98-yard interception return.
- Week 5 is a road divisional game in Washington where the Giants will seek to extend their momentum and protect first place.
- The Commanders remain shorthanded at quarterback after Marcus Mariota suffered an MCL sprain and third-stringer Athan Kaliakmanis started in London.
- Coach Dan Quinn said the goal is for Jayden Daniels to have a full week of practice and potentially start, making his return the key open question for Washington.
- Most local prognosticators favor New York because of Washington’s recent travel and injuries, but betting lines and some analysts see the Commanders as a close pick if Daniels plays.
