Giants Acquire Outfielder TJ Hopkins from Reds

Hopkins, who debuted in the major leagues last season, had a successful stint at Triple-A Louisville before joining the Reds.

Outfielder TJ Hopkins has been acquired by the San Francisco Giants from the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
Hopkins, who turns 27 next month, made his major league debut with the Reds on June 3.
In his first season in the major leagues, Hopkins batted .171 with one RBI in 25 games.
Before his major league debut, Hopkins had a successful stint at Triple-A Louisville, hitting .308 with 16 homers and 55 RBIs in 94 games.
The Reds had designated Hopkins for assignment to clear a roster spot after agreeing to a contract with outfielder Austin Wynns.
