The defeat ended L.A.’s 13-0 clutch run after Kevin Porter Jr.’s late free throws followed Luka Dončić fouling out.

Overview

  • Giannis Antetokounmpo blocked LeBron James’ layup and then stripped him on consecutive late possessions to seal the win.
  • With 16.2 seconds left in a tie game, Luka Dončić fouled Kevin Porter Jr. on a 3-point attempt for his sixth foul; Porter made key free throws and added two more to close it out.
  • LeBron James posted 26 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds but committed a turnover in the closing seconds after the steal by Antetokounmpo.
  • Antetokounmpo, returning from a right calf strain on a minutes restriction, finished with 21 points as Milwaukee improved to 17-21; the Lakers fell to 23-13, fifth in the West.
  • Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura remained out, with coach JJ Redick saying Hachimura could return early next week; next up are Bucks at Denver on Sunday and Lakers at Sacramento on Monday.
