Giannis Antetokounmpo Open to Leaving Bucks as Raptors, Spurs and Rockets Show Interest

Milwaukee’s front office will only entertain a trade if it receives a blockbuster return following consecutive playoff disappointments.

The Bucks are slight favorites to hold onto Giannis Antetokounmpo until at least the start of the 2025-26 season, but both San Antonio and Houston have shorter than 5-to-1 odds to be the Greek Freak's next destination.

Overview

  • ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that Giannis is open-minded about whether his long-term future lies in Milwaukee or with another franchise.
  • NBA insider Stefan Bondy estimates the odds of Giannis being traded at about 60/40 and says the Bucks will only move him if they receive a deal that “makes a lot of sense.”
  • DraftKings odds list Milwaukee as the favorite to retain Giannis (–140), with the Spurs (+380), Rockets (+450) and Raptors (+800) as the most likely trade destinations.
  • Milwaukee has secured just one postseason series win since its 2021 title and endured a third straight first-round exit this spring, compounded by Damian Lillard’s season-ending Achilles tear.
  • Newsweek reports that Raptors President Masai Ujiri’s entering a contract year could prompt Toronto to chase a marquee off-season acquisition.
