Overview
- Tufail Rind, also reported as Tufail Haiderani, was attacked by gunmen on a motorcycle on the Jerwar Link Road near Maso Wah in Mirpur Mathelo while taking children to school.
- Police said Rind died from gunshot wounds and that his children were unharmed, while an eight-year-old niece later collapsed after hearing the news and died en route to Sukkur.
- SSP Ghotki Anwar Khetran inspected the crime scene, met the family, and stated that two suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing.
- Colleagues held protests and a sit-in in Mirpur Mathelo demanding swift justice and stronger protections for journalists, noting Rind had earlier reported threats and requested security.
