GHMC Road Works Will Severely Restrict Parking Across NIMS Campus

Hospital asks visitors to use public transport to reduce congestion, preserve ambulance access, limit demand for on‑site parking.

Overview

  • Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences says the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation will carry out phased cement‑concrete road construction on campus that will last about three months and reduce available parking.
  • The works will be staged across multiple zones, including the Panjagutta gates, Millennium and Physiotherapy blocks, the dialysis waiting area, Wellness Centre, NPR block, staff parking near Union Bank, nursing hostel approach, doctors’ parking, the road to CSSD and general stores, and the portico and common parking area.
  • NIMS has formally advised patients, attendants and visitors to avoid bringing private vehicles unless essential and to use public transport wherever possible to prevent campus congestion.
  • The hospital says the measures are meant to protect unimpeded ambulance and emergency access and to maintain smooth vehicular movement for critical services during the resurfacing.
  • Visitors should expect severe parking limits over the work period, plan journeys in advance, allow extra time for drop‑offs or consider alternate hospitals and transport options if timely access is likely to be affected.
