GHMC Approves ₹5 Indiramma Breakfast Plan and Civic Upgrades

Mid-July rollout relies on support from the Hare Krishna Mission with CSR backing from WaterAid India.

Overview

  • The GHMC Standing Committee approved 14 proposals covering subsidized meals, urban infrastructure, waterbody rejuvenation and public art installations.
  • A ₹5 breakfast scheme will launch at Indiramma Canteens in mid-July with annual subsidies totaling ₹15.33 crore and 139 new food containers provided by the civic body.
  • Repairs to the main bund of Saroornagar tank and the widening of a 100-foot road from Shastripuram Road over Bridge to the Inner Ring Road near Mehfil Hotel are budgeted at ₹5.60 crore and ₹4.95 crore respectively.
  • A new sculpture park will be developed along the KBR Park walkway in Jubilee Hills under a partnership with the Krishnakriti Foundation.
  • WaterAid India will lead a 24-month CSR project to restore five tanks in the Serilingampally zone.
