Overview
- The fire was reported at 12:49 pm Monday in Chawl No. 10, Sai Nagar on 90-Feet Road in Ghatkopar East.
- Mumbai Fire Brigade, police, BMC ward staff and a 108 ambulance responded, and the blaze was fully extinguished by about 1:28–1:30 pm.
- Flames were limited to a roughly 10x10 ft first-floor room, affecting electrical wiring, a leaking LPG cylinder, a gas stove, utensils and clothes.
- All six victims were taken to Rajawadi Hospital, where the four children sustained 2–12% burns and were reported stable.
- Two adults — Dalat Devi Mukhiya, 40, with about 15% burns, and Nageshwar Mukhiya, 45, with about 55% burns — remain critical as the exact cause is investigated, with a cylinder blast cited prima facie.
