• Gethin Jones has been appointed chef de mission for Team Wales at the upcoming Commonwealth Games.
• In his head-of-mission role, the BBC Morning Live star will lead, support and represent the Welsh delegation.
• Jones began his sporting career as a scrum-half for Clwb Rygbi Cymry Caerdydd and even trialled with Sale Sharks in Manchester.
• His experience at the 2018 Gold Coast Games prompted him to complete a master’s in Sport Directorship.
• Alongside his broadcasting and Team Wales duties, he will star in Cardiff’s New Theatre Christmas pantomime, Cinderella.
