Overview
- The blaze erupted at about 5:15 a.m. in a warehouse housing cranes and heavy machinery on Camino del Canalizo near the A-4.
- Nineteen units from Bomberos de la Comunidad de Madrid battled the fire and held it at bay by dawn, remaining on site to cool hotspots.
- Roughly 100 guests at the neighboring Gran Hotel Los Ángeles were evacuated as smoke engulfed the area and all were accounted for without need for medical care.
- The fire destroyed most of the warehouse’s structure and equipment, collapsing parts of the nave and fully incinerating several cranes.
