Overview

  • Deutsche Bahn is renewing track and switches at Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof across six consecutive weekends from August 22 to September 28, closing platforms 14/15 and 16/17, rerouting HLB lines RB37 and RB40/41, and shifting some long‑distance stops to Frankfurt‑Süd or Frankfurt‑West.
  • Munich’s S‑Bahn Stammstrecke will be heavily curtailed from Friday, August 29 at 22:30 to Monday, September 1 at 04:40, with only S7 and S8 running regularly as other lines short‑turn, skip stops or split into segments.
  • DB InfraGO has ordered three temporary slow‑speed sections on BRB’s Oberland network from August 25, forcing RB55 trains to short‑turn at Schliersee and adding bus replacement services toward Bayrischzell, measures the operator expects to keep until planned works in October–November.
  • The Hochrheinbahn electrification between Basel and Erzingen will start on September 20, with a €434 million program supported by 50 million Swiss francs, phased closures beginning April 2026, and full commissioning targeted for the December 2027 timetable.
  • Westbahn CEO Thomas Posch criticized DB InfraGO for insufficient advance notice and coordination of construction blocks, citing last‑minute route issues and calling for earlier, aligned communication to match passengers’ booking horizons.
