- Total new-car registrations rose to 250,133 in October, up 7.8% year over year, with 52,425 battery-electric cars accounting for a 21.0% share and rising 47.7%.
- Plug-in hybrids jumped 60% to roughly 31,000 units and, for the first time, outnumbered new diesels at about 30,500, while diesel and petrol registrations fell 15.8% and 12.9%.
- Brand rankings shifted as Tesla logged about 750 new cars, down nearly 54% from a year ago, whereas China’s BYD exceeded 3,300 registrations, up 866%.
