Overview
- Aircraft 63+01 was officially accepted on Oct. 1 and touched down in Germany on Nov. 7 before being welcomed at Marine Fliegerhorst Nordholz.
- It is the first of eight Poseidons that will replace the German Navy’s aging P-3C Orion fleet.
- The P-8A brings long-range patrol, anti-submarine warfare and ISR capabilities through advanced radar, acoustic sensors and secure communications.
- Further deliveries over the next two years will enable phased entry into front-line service and expanded NATO maritime missions.
- Boeing named ESG and Lufthansa Technik as sustainment partners to provide integration, training, support and high availability for the fleet.
