With extensive preparations in place, the winter service aims to ensure safe travel across 13,000 kilometers of highways.

Winter service on German autobahns officially begins every year on November 1, ensuring readiness for snow and ice.
The Autobahn GmbH has strategically stocked salt supplies since summer, with 27,000 tons available in Westphalia alone.
Approximately 6,300 road maintenance workers are on standby nationwide, equipped to manage winter conditions around the clock.
In the northeastern regions, 21 highway maintenance facilities cover over 1,400 kilometers, supported by additional seasonal staff.
Advanced technology, including built-in ice warning systems every 30 to 40 kilometers, aids in timely deployment of de-icing measures.
