Overview
- Final data show 79% of the crop were sweet cherries (37,300 tonnes) and 21% were sour cherries (9,800 tonnes).
- The total harvest was 4.2% above the 2015–2024 average and roughly one third higher than 2024’s frost-hit crop.
- Sweet cherries rose 13.3% above the ten-year average, while sour cherries remained 20.0% below that benchmark.
- Sour-cherry output was revised down from June’s estimate of about 11,700 tonnes, reflecting a 25% cut in area to 1,500 hectares and final harvest results.
- Baden-Württemberg produced 47% of Germany’s sweet cherries, and several states such as Brandenburg, Saxony, and Saxony-Anhalt recorded sharp rebounds from last year.
