- Germany recorded 475,100 new dual training contracts in 2024, a decrease of 1.0% or roughly 4,700 compared with 2023, according to the Federal Statistical Office.

- Foreign starters accounted for approximately 15% of all new apprentices in 2024, up from 7% in 2014.
- Vietnam (7,100), Syria (6,800) and Ukraine (5,800) formed the largest groups of new foreign apprentices, with Ukrainian contracts nearly tripling from about 1,900 in 2023.
