Overview

  • The Bundeswehr’s Q3 2025 order covers approximately 1,400 HX-based logistics vehicles, including 963 swap-body trucks and 425 unprotected transport vehicles in 4×4 and 8×8 configurations.
  • The contract falls under a July 2024 framework that allows Germany to procure up to 6,500 vehicles valued at €3.5 billion over seven years without renegotiation.
  • All vehicles from the latest procurement are scheduled for delivery by December 2025 to bolster the army’s logistical capacity.
  • The framework introduces a new 3.5-tonne 4×4 UTV variant that shares components with existing models to streamline maintenance and spare parts management.
  • Rheinmetall’s HX platform has been the backbone of Bundeswehr logistics since 2017 and underpins interoperability with more than 20,000 vehicles fielded by NATO and allied forces.
